SCNC (2)The Wilmington Railroad Museum is not just for kids but for everyone who is still a kid at heart.  It is an educational and exciting place to learn about the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad Company.

The museum has a great collection of fun, educational, and interactive exhibit, including the Thomas the Tank Train play area, 20-plus operating scale model trains, a real life-size caboose, boxcar, and a 100-year-old steam locomotive!

The great thing about the museum is your kids won’t even know they are getting an education while playing. You can trace the development of railroad in the Wilmington area and learn about the people who helped in the growth of the railroad including Thomas Edison and George Pullman.

Dock your boat at the Port City Marina, with over 200 slips and plenty of amenities. It is only a few blocks away from the museum, so you can walk over. For more information on the marina: http://portcitymarina.com/.

The Museum is open daily from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Check the website for details: http://www.wrrm.org/.
