One of the biggest events in the boating community is right around the corner! On Saturday, November 26th at 6:00 pm the 33rd North Carolina Holiday Flotilla will take place. People can gather to enjoy one of the best nights of the holiday season.

If you are interested in entering the parade with your own boat act fast because only 30 boats are allowed in the parade. Size of your boat does not matter, judging is based on creativity and costumes. All captains must be present at the captains’ meeting on Friday, November 25th at 6:30 pm at the Blockade Runner.

In the past, boats have had full lights of a Spongebob theme, everything about New York, a snowman paddle-boarding, and a Christmas tree lit up on a tube. Creativity is important! Get planning and get decorating!

This year the public is allowed to help boaters become winners by texting their votes for the best decorated boat. Visit http://www.ncholidayflotilla.org/text-voting/ for more information on how to get involved.

Don’t miss out on the amazing fireworks display following the parade. Viewing of the fireworks is good at any point facing the waterway near Wrightsville Beach and most waterside restaurants. Many residents say it is the best fireworks show in North Carolina.
